As the Covid-19 pandemic is still ravaging the world, and as our economies are increasingly feeling its impact on their labour market and businesses, JA student entrepreneurs aged 15-21 showcased their business ideas at this year’s virtual Company of the Year Competition European final.

At a time when Europe struggles to recover from the Covid-19 crisis, Prof. Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, the President of Portugal, European Commissioners Mariya Gabriel (Innovation, Research, Culture, Education & Youth) and Paolo Gentiloni (Economy) and other speakers last week called for investment into education and equipping young people with the skills needed to rebuild our economies.

Bubbles rise to the top at JA Company of the Year event

At the first ever virtual JA Europe Company of the Year Competition, students from JA Company Programme from Denmark lifted the 2020 AT&T Signature Award. The winning team Bubbles has developed a unique way of giving teachers real-time voice access to Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) headphones, which creates a muted ‘Learning Bubble’ in the classroom.

Helmet Vision Wins Citi Foundation Client Focus Award

Helmet Vision from Georgia picked up this year’s Citi Foundation Client Focus Award, with a mini-company producing innovative helmets for firefighters.
